Leaving.

There are some fairly simple ways of dealing with unpleasantness so we began with one.

It’s quite nice at first but then just seems to invite bad dreams and the inevitable headache in the morning. Plan B was decided for us by two of our oldest friends, one of whom is a travel agent and the other who has a beach house.

We left the chaos of Christchurch airport in dribs and drabs along with sad-faced grown ups and many, many unaccompanied children. Tonight we’re reunited at Omaha Beach and we begin the slow process of recovering from this cataclysmic earthquake.
