as to whether we should be impressed or horrified with Henry’s latest trick. He found a bag of paua pieces in a drawer yesterday and carefully sorted them, according to size, into three cocoa tins. Then he labelled the tins $1, $2 and $3 and tried to sell the paua to us. We didn’t have any spare cash but he obligingly put some pieces ‘on hold’ until 6pm.
Two hours later, Henry was spotted walking up the driveway, cocoa tins in hand, a cheeky smile on his face. We thought he had been playing in his room. He’d actually set up a paua stall around the corner near a bus stop and had been selling paua to passers by. He’d made $4.
After a gentle talk about telling us where he’s going and taking a big person with him next time, we laughed and praised his entrepreneurial skills. His shout for ice creams!
OMG! Tamsin is doing the same thing – eeek. The leaving the house without telling us that is. The money angle would be nice though.
Problem is, a girl earning money on the street is probably not something we wish to discuss with her…..ya know?
That boy will go far in life. And much further than the bus stop around the corner I think!
Henry demonstrates great entrepreneurship….you handled it well from the sounds of it.
